Week two for the self-portrait challenge of street photography. This is proving to be very difficult indeed! Since I already used up the easy shot last week in front of my house I knew I’d have to venture out in public somewhere this time.
Hoping to make it appear like a more authentic, candid type street shot, I wanted to get other people in this one so that it didn’t seem like I just went out on some deserted strip of road and took a plain old photo of myself. I’d say that maybe I’m close with this, but not quite.
There was no way I was going to risk leaving my camera sitting out by itself so my associate volunteered to go which also helped me feel a little less like an idiot.

I think this one looks better large.
Lucky me, the remote was really working well today. As a matter of fact it works from quite a significant distance too which pleased me. After a hundred or so shots we started to relax a bit and my associate started to come up with some ideas like this one below where she pretended to trip in front of me. Unfortunately, that barrel blocked the good part of the shot.

I’m hoping that because of tonight’s practice, next week’s shot won’t be so intimidating for me. We’ll see.
